Enrollment
All enrollments begin with our online enrollment process. There is no fee to enroll online, and we recommend doing so as soon as you can to ensure there is ample time before the start of class to get you set up for classes. You can enroll online by clicking the “Enroll Now” button at the top of this page.
After submitting our online enrollment form, our Program Coordinator will reach out to you with next steps. You will be asked to come in for an in-person enrollment appointment during which you will complete your enrollment and get set up for class!
To take our CNA course, you must be at least 16 years of age.
To take our phlebotomy and our dual enrollment courses, you must be at least 16 years of age and have your GED or have completed high school.
Submit the online enrollment form for the waitlisted class the same as you would an open class. Waitlist spots are opened up on a first-come, first-served basis, so the earlier you fill out the form, the higher likelihood you have of getting a spot in the class!
See complete information for individual courses, including costs, schedule overviews, and curriculum, on their respective course pages:
See complete schedule breakdowns here.
Contact the program coordinator as soon you realize the error, and notify them immediately. Please do not resubmit the enrollment form.
All information about Illinois criminal background checks will be given to you after submitting your enrollment form.
All information about TB verification will be given to you after submitting your enrollment form.
Finances
Complete cost information for each of our courses can be found on each course’s respective webpage:
We take card, check, or cash for all payments. For tuition payments, we also accept bank transfers (ACH). We do not accept ACH for deposit & supplies payments.
No! The costs displayed in our course pages cover all the fees you will be paying to us. Our supplies cost covers scrubs, textbooks, gait belts, stethoscopes, and any other equipment you will need for our course. (You will be responsible, of course, for bringing a pen, notebook, and any other supplies you may need.)
If your criminal background check requires you to get a fingerprint, you may have to pay a licensed vendor in Illinois for your fingerprint. Costs vary by location. We will give you specific information on fingerprinting locations after enrollment, if you need it.
For the CNA examination, taken after successfully completing our course, there is an $85 fee, paid to the State of Illinois. You will be responsible for scheduling the examination yourself, but we will guide you through this process! (There is no State examination for phlebotomy.)
We have a few different forms of financial assistance available for students.
- Payment plans are available to all students – there are no eligibility requirements. To learn more about payment plans, see the “How do payment plans work?” question below in this section.
- We partner with local workforce development boards who help support community members in paying for vocational training. These organizations can cover up to the entire cost of the course. To be considered for any of these, you must have submitted your online enrollment form. Eligibility is not guaranteed. We recommend submitting your enrollment form as soon as possible if you wish to be considered.
- Facilities and employers will often choose to sponsor their employees to take a course with us. To learn more about this, please contact your employer.
If you choose to pay for your course using a payment plan, our Program Coordinator will give you a list of options after you submit your online enrollment form. Each option allows you to split up the total cost of the course into a few installments (for example, pay in 2, pay in 3, etc.). The first of these payments will be due before class starts. Following payments will have due dates as the course progresses.
In order to graduate from our program, you must be fully paid off by your last deadline, which will always be a few weeks before the last day of class.
We do not offer any type of loan. We also do not recommend getting any kind of private loan in order to take our courses.
No, we do not.
Class Information
You are allowed to miss at most one theory/lab class and at most one clinical. You will be able to make this up at a later date, as scheduled by your instructor.
Being late for class may count as an absence. As such, we always recommend
Any further accommodations will need to be prearranged before the first day of class, and agreed upon by the program coordinator. Accommodations must have a valid, preapproved reason, and are not guaranteed approval.
Any emergencies that arise during the course will be accommodated on a case-by-case basis.
CNA is 120 hours, phlebotomy is 70 hours, and dual enrollment is 175 hours.
Information on the class dress code will be given to you after enrollment. For theory/lab courses, you are expected to dress in a way appropriate for any professional setting. For clinicals, you are required to wear your scrubs.
For all situations, close-toed shoes are required.
We recommend a notebook and a couple good pens and pencils. Bringing a water bottle is always a good idea, as well as a sweatshirt if you get cold. A laptop or tablet is optional.
We provide all class-related supplies including the textbook, scrubs, gait belts, stethoscopes, and more.
To receive your CNA license, you must take the INACE, an exam given by the Illinois Department of Public Health. To take the exam, you must have successfully graduated from our course with a passing grade. We will give you all information about the exam, how to register for it, and how to prepare for it, after you start class.
There is no examination for phlebotomy. Once you successfully graduate from our course, you will be certified as a phlebotomist!
